Take a generous helping of pathos combined with a dash of humor - add imagination, power tools, and paint - and you have a recipe for mayhem! I address the absurdity of violent conflict in humorous creations that soften the blow of my critical commentary. Plus making destructive toys is just plain fun.
I take my artwork beyond the normal boundaries of static sculpture. They demand to be touched, interacted with. You must become a willing participant in my world.
While studying drawing at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, I began creating wooden sculptures in the school’s woodworking shop. As a museum craftsman by day and a creator of quirky wooden art toys by night, I've acquired thirty years of woodworking experience.
